Student Support Grants

The 45th IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS 2025) is pleased to offer a limited number of Student Support Grants offered by US NSF and SICSA to help students attend the conference. These grants aim to provide financial assistance for travel and/or registration costs, enabling students to participate in the conference and engage with the research community.

General Eligibility

  • Applicants must be students (undergraduate or graduate students or PhD students depending on the grants funder) at an accredited institution/university.
  • Preference will be given to students who are authors of accepted papers at IEEE ICDCS 2025, though all students interested in distributed computing and AI are encouraged to apply.
  • Students from underrepresented regions or institutions with limited funding support are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in distributed computing and AI and provide a compelling justification for attending IEEE ICDCS 2025.

List of Student Support Grants:

  • US NSF Student Support Grant-Eligibility: The US NSF student grant covers partial travel expenses (flights or other transportation) and student conference registration fees. According to U.S. NSF policy, NSF awardees should be undergraduate or graduate students affiliated with U.S. universities and must use U.S. carriers for their flights to be eligible for reimbursement.
  • SICSA Student Support Grant-Eligibility: The SICSA student grant is eligible for PhD students studying in SICSA (Scottish Informatics & Computer Science Alliance) universities. This grant covers student conference registration fees.

Selection Criteria & Application

The selection process involves a careful evaluation of the materials submitted by applicants. Priority consideration will be given to students that have a paper accepted at the conference and have a financial need.

Your application should be gathered in 1 PDF file with the following:

  1. A short statement of purpose (max 500 words) describing your research interests, the relevance of IEEE ICDCS 2025 to your studies, and how attending will benefit your academic and professional growth.
  2. A letter of recommendation from your PhD supervisor, or advisor, or a faculty member, confirming your student status and the importance of your attendance.
  3. (If applicable) Proof of paper acceptance at IEEE ICDCS 2025 (paper# and title).
