Call for Tutorials

Scope

The 45th IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (IEEE ICDCS 2025) is a premier international forum for researchers and practitioners to present, discuss and exchange cutting edge ideas as well as the latest findings on topics related to any aspects of distributed computing systems. The conference will be held on 20-23 July 2025 in Glasgow, Scotland, UK (https://icdcs2025.icdcs.org/).

IEEE ICDCS 2025 encourages the submission of tutorials on the theory, experimentation, and practice of Distributed Computing Systems and Distributed Artificial Intelligence (AI). These proposals should focus on either emerging or established research topics that are likely to captivate the broad interest of the ICDCS community, as outlined below (but are not limited to):

  • Distributed Systems for AI/ML
  • AI/ML for Distributed Systems
  • Distributed Inference
  • Federated Learning for applications (e.g., biomedical)
  • Distributed LLMs and RAG deployments
  • Big Data, Models and Systems
  • Mobile, Edge and Cloud Computing
  • Operating Systems and Middleware
  • Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems
  • Trustworthy AI, Security and Privacy in Distributed AI
  • Deployment Mechanisms for Distributed Systems
  • Novel Infrastructure and Emerging Applications

Guidelines for Tutorial Proposals

Proposals should be limited to four (4) pages in length (IEEE 8.5″ x 11″ two-column format using 10pt fonts) in a single PDF file and must contain the following information:

  • Tutorial Title and Abstract (maximum of 150 words).
  • Names and Affiliations of the tutor(s).
  • At least one tutor is required to deliver the tutorial in-person, on-site.
  • Explain why the tutorial is engaging and significant for IEEE ICDCS community.
  • An outline of the tutorial in bullet-point format, including references and estimated time allocations for each topic.
  • Each tutorial will be a half-day tutorial unless a strong case can be made for a full-day tutorial.
  • Provide an estimate of participants in the tutorial.
  • Information about previous editions of the tutorial (if any) like history and frequency of the tutorial, past conference co-locations, URLs (if available) and approximate attendance.
  • A short biography of each tutor highlighting their expertise and experience in tutorials and/or similar events.
