Call for Demonstrations

Scope

The 45th IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (IEEE ICDCS 2025) is the premier international forum for researchers and practitioners to present, discuss and exchange cutting edge ideas as well as the latest findings on topics related to all aspects of distributed computing systems and AI-driven systems. IEEE ICDCS 2025 will feature a Demonstrations track in conjunction with the conference, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, from July 20th to July 23rd, 2025 (https://icdcs2025.icdcs.org/).

IEEE ICDCS 2025 particularly encourages the submission of high-quality and original demonstration papers on the experimentation and practice of Distributed Computing Systems and Distributed Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Demonstrations track provides opportunities for researchers and stakeholders to present their research prototypes, proof-of-concepts, operational distributed computing and/or AI-driven systems, which they wish to introduce to the community to obtain feedback from experts, and/or exchange knowledge on implementing and developing such systems.

Topics of interest in a demonstration paper include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Distributed Systems, Applications & Infrastructure (e.g., LLMs and RAG Deployments)
  • Security and Safety for Distributed Computing Systems
  • Innovative Applications of Distributed Systems (e.g., Blockchain)
  • Cloud, Mobile & Edge Computing
  • Internet of Things & Cyber Physical Systems
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) for Distributed Systems
  • Distributed AI/ML, Federated Learning & Distributed Analytics
  • Trustworthy AI, Security & Privacy in Distributed AI & Systems
  • Big Data & Big Models

Demonstration Paper Submission

Authors are requested to submit a paper that outlines the purpose, scope, and audience of their demo. The paper should clearly emphasize the motivation and the technical contributions of the demonstrated artifact. It should highlight the technical contributions with sufficient detail to allow for a fair assessment of their merit, clearly outline the interactive features of the demonstration, and describe their potential to stimulate engaging discussions with the ICDCS audience. Additionally, authors are encouraged to include links to online resources in any digital form, such as a live online version of their demo or alternatively a video or a tutorial showcasing the main features of their demo and illustrating the potential interactive elements of their work. Finally, the submission should explicitly mention any special (non-standard) requirements for the proposed demo, so that the committee can consider them when evaluating the demonstration’s appropriateness to the conference setup.

All demonstration papers should follow the IEEE 8.5″ x 11″ two-column format using 10pt fonts and the IEEE Conference template (downloadable by selecting “Conferences” in the IEEE-Template Selector  https://template-selector.ieee.org/). Each submission can have up to six (6) pages (including figures, tables, appendices, and references). Papers exceeding this page limit or with smaller fonts will be desk-rejected without review. The demonstration paper review process is single-blind. All accepted and presented demonstration papers will be included in the IEEE proceedings.

For each accepted demonstration paper, at least one author is required to pay a full author registration and attend the conference in-person to present their demonstration on-site. No-show paper will be reported to the publisher and removed from the conference proceedings.

Note that the authors must adhere to ethic and professional standards of IEEE. Please refer to IEEE Code of Ethics and IEEE Policy of AI-Generated Text.

A Best Demonstration Award will be selected from the demonstrations presented at the conference.
